AMRF: Call for applications for a melanoma or other skin cancer Fellowship

The Auckland Medical Research Foundation (AMRF) is calling for applications for the JI Sutherland Medical Research Fellowship. This Fellowship is open to medical or science graduates with New Zealand residency, permanent residency or citizenship who wish to undertake full-time medical research for a PhD or an MD in the specific field of melanoma or other skin cancer research. The type of research can range from basic research through to clinical research. 

For medical graduates the salary support package is set at $90,000. For science graduates a non-taxable stipend at the same level as the AMRF PhD stipend will be provided.  The Fellowship will also cover annual tuition fees and will provide an annual contribution of up to $5,000 towards working expenses for the project. In addition, during the term of the Fellowship there is provision for one award of up to $5,000 to assist with conference travel expenses.  The tenure of this Fellowship is a maximum of three years.

The AMRF aims to improve the health of New Zealanders through funding the highest quality medical research of all kinds. Our funding area is limited to all recognised tertiary institutions and Te Whatu Ora in the greater Auckland and Northland region of New Zealand. The funding area may be extended outside this region only if hosted by a principal investigator who is a member of an Auckland tertiary institution or a Te Whatu Ora clinical unit in Auckland or Northland.
