Ireland launches national Skin Cancer Prevention Action Plan

Ireland has recently launched its first national Skin Cancer Prevention Plan. 

Designed to tackle the most common type of cancer in Ireland, the plan prioritises children, outdoor workers, sunbed users and those who pursue outdoor leisure activities and sets out to enhance cross-sectoral collaboration to increase awareness and adoption of skin cancer preventative behaviours. 

The focus of the plan is on primary prevention with the aim of, through cross-sectoral collaboration, developing and implementing evidence-based strategies which will increase awareness and adoption of skin cancer prevention behaviours.
