Australian College of Dermatologists release guideline for Sentinel Node Biopsy

The Australian College of Dermatologists (ACD) has released a new guideline for sentinel node biopsy. It concludes:

Careful discussion of the risks and benefits of the procedure with all sentinel node biopsy eligible patients is recommended.
Sentinel node biopsy be performed at the time of wide local excision.
Sentinel node positive patients are able to access adjuvant therapy to improve survival.
Sentinel node positive patients require increased surveillance intensity.
