DMAS shows potential in treating NRAS-mutated melanoma

In this recent study, the therapeutic potential of β,β-dimethylacrylshikonin (DMAS) was investigated on melanoma. It showed that BRAF as well as NRAS-mutated metastatic human melanoma cell lines were treated successfully in vitro and in vivo.

Tertiary lymphoid structures improve immunotherapy and survival in melanoma

Results of this recent study indicate that tertiary lymphoid structures have a key role in the immune microenvironment in melanoma, by conferring distinct T cell phenotypes. Therapeutic strategies to induce the formation of tertiary lymphoid structures should be explored to improve responses to cancer immunotherapy.

Refreshed #DumbBurn Skin Cancer Prevention Campaign

The Health Promotion Agency has refreshed their skin cancer prevention campaign, '#Dumbburn', which encourages young people to avoid getting sunburnt. It will run through until the end of February 2020.
