Help shape the future of the organisation, contribute your expertise, and guide our mission to prevent skin cancers, improve outcomes, and save lives.
Important information
- Five members will be elected under the new Constitution.
- Consideration will be given to ensuring a diversity of expertise relevant to the Objects of Skin Cancer New Zealand Incorporated, and geographic representations from across New Zealand including urban and rural areas and the North and South Islands.
- Members will serve either a one- or two-year term (under transitional arrangements).
About the Executive
The Executive's role is to provide governance and strategic leadership for Skin Cancer New Zealand. Executive members will set the vision and direction for the organisation, monitor progress on priorities, ensure accountability to members and stakeholders and represent the organisation nationally.
The Executive will be supported and informed by the Chief Executive and taskforces of members with specific expertise.
Expectations of Executive members
- Attend approximately six online meetings a year (1 - 2 hours in duration).
- Actively contribute to discussions and offer fresh perspectives that will help shape direction and priorities.
- Utilise expertise and networks to guide the organisation, strengthen connections with stakeholders, and support informed decision-making.
- Act as an ambassador for Skin Cancer New Zealand.

Purpose
The MelNet Executive Committee have called this Special General Meeting to:
- Adopt an updated Constitution
This revised document will reflect our rebrand to Skin Cancer New Zealand Incorporated, modernise our governance structures, and improve compliance with the Incorporated Societies Act 2022. A copy of the revised document, with proposed changes highlighted in red, is available to download below. - Announce the results of the election of the inaugural Executive of Skin Cancer New Zealand
The election will be held via online ballot ahead of the Special General Meeting; however, the results will stand only if the revised Constitution is adopted.
These decisions will set the foundation for strong governance, clear direction, and the future growth of Skin Cancer New Zealand. We encourage all members to attend.
